Truck Central

The Land Development Corporation’s Truck Central project is a 90 hectare industrial estate which is bounded by the major heavy transport routes of Tiger Brennan Drive, Berrimah Road and Wishart Road in Darwin, Northern Territory. Truck Central is in close proximity to the Top End’s transport nodes including the Berrimah Rail Freight Terminal, East Arm Wharf, Marine Supply Base and Darwin International Airport and is centrally situated between the cities of Darwin and Palmerston. The precinct can provide larger lot sizes and is ideally situated to accommodate contractor’s yards, warehousing and workshop activities.

About the Project

Truck Central will be a one stop location for the transport sector. It will incorporate services such as a Road House/Fuel Station, Driver rest/fatigue management facilities, a Road Train Assembly Area and a MVR Heavy Vehicle Inspection facility.

It is anticipated that the surrounding 22 industrial lots for sale will be developed by truck servicing and associated truck industry companies. The lot sizes vary from 3000m² to 9000m² and titles for the land are expected to be available in December 2018. Internal subdivision works are progressing, with Ostojic Group in the final phases of servicing. Internal roads are taking shape and road sealing is soon to commence.

Truck Central achieves another milestone with delivery partner, Ostojic Group, commencing construction of intersection works at the corner of Wishart and Kirkland Roads. The new 4 way intersection will provide convenient safe access to Truck Central. Construction on the intersection is expected to be completed before December 2018. This includes additional new traffic lanes along Wishart Road and Kirkland Road, and an upgrade to the rail crossing.

Precinct Design

Truck Central has been specifically designed to accommodate road train refuelling, fatigue management facilities, and a road train assembly area within a common user transport hub area. The road train assembly area comprising over 3 hectares of heavy duty hardstand with loading ramps will provide a safe environment for the short term parking and reconfiguration of heavy vehicles. This facility will be surrounded by 23 industrial lots for the clustering of supporting transport businesses including truck sales, tyre outlets, wash down facilities, body and mechanical repair workshops within a master planned estate.
