All MVR Bookings now undertaken at Truck Central

The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics is decommissioning the vacant Goyder Road Test Shed at Parap.

The building is being removed with all heavy and light vehicle inspections are now undertaken at the new Vehicle Inspection Facility at Truck Central, Wishart.

Removal of the test shed commenced on Monday 14 December 2020 and is anticipated to be completed by mid-February 2021 (weather permitting).

During this time there may be an increase in noise and heavy vehicle movements within the area. Signage will be in place and all efforts will be made to minimise disruption where possible.

Territory business can now access popular vehicle registration transactions online without needing to visit a MVR office.

Services available include:

  • renew registrations in bulk
  • submit notice of disposals
  • upgrade heavy vehicle configuration
  • transfer ownership
  • register factory-new and expired vehicles
  • submit roadworthy inspection
  • record vehicle compliance check.

The Northern Territory Government has partnered with the Australian Government to establish a COVID-19 testing centre at the Road Train Assembly Area at Truck Central to support the transport and freight industry.

Testing is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8am – 12pm.
