The past week saw the virtually hosted Australian Liquid Fuel Security Conference, a two day event discussing items such as an outlook on Australian and Global future fuel supply and demand, underground fuel storage solutions, national fuel security across industry and a fuel supply chain, innovative technologies for feedstock, hydrogen fuel barriers and opportunity, and Australia’s national resilience in fuel stores. A keynote speech from Australian Government Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction,  The Hon. Angus Taylor MP, highlighted the importance of strategic fuel storage and current initiatives and policy focus on Australia’s fuel production and storage capacities.

Specifically relevant to LDC’s Middle Arm Industrial Precinct was a presentation from Tony Debenham, Managing Director of Darwin Clean Fuels. The Darwin Clean Fuels project aims to become a major contributor to fuel processing in the Australian market, with a potential to produce 10% of Australia’s fuel supply. Innovative and more environmentally friendly and efficient in its processing, Darwin Clean Fuels plans to produce 10,000 barrels per day of high quality transport fuels, with a capital investment of US$2 Billion.

The Land Development Corporation look forward to Darwin Clean Fuels being located in the Middle Arm Industrial Precinct in the future.
