International Women’s Day fundraiser

This year for International Women’s day, Land Development Corporation chose to support the Share the Dignity charity with a staff lunch fundraiser and all proceeds to going to Share the Dignity.

Lija Foley, our Development Officer is a volunteer for Share the Dignity. Lija shared with the team the importance of Share the Dignity and their purpose; to work to make a real, on ground difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. They distribute sanitary products to those in need and work to end period poverty here in Australia.

So far they have donated 2.8 million pads & tampons and 613,317 it’s in the bag (bags full of hygiene and personal care products).

Kassi Picken, LDC Project Director also presented a wonderful personal story with us all, drawing on this year’s International Women’s Day theme ‘Choose to Challenge’. Kassi’s hope was for us all to take something from her story and choose to challenge ourselves.

We raised a total of $292 for Share the Dignity.
