SHARE THE DIGNITY FUNDRAISER

We raised a total of $290 for Share the Dignity. With these funds we decided to participate in the March sanitary item drive by using this money to purchase a whole range of sanitary items that will be used locally around Darwin for Women in need.

As part of International Women’s day we chose to support Share the Dignity charity with a staff lunch fundraiser and all proceeds to going to Share the Dignity.

Lija Foley, our Development Officer is a volunteer for Share the Dignity. Lija shared with the team the importance of Share the Dignity and their purpose; to work to make a real, on ground difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. They distribute sanitary products to those in need and work to end period poverty here in Australia.

So far they have donated 3.8 million pads & tampons and 799,206 “it’s in the bag” items (bags full of hygiene and personal care products).
