Spotlight on Business: Rimfire Energy

Rimfire Energy is on track to successfully develop 2 utility scale generation projects; 10 MW solar PV at Batchelor and 12.5 MW gas-fired at Hudson Creek. Both of these projects are fully funded by Merrick‘s Capital and the Northern Australia Infrastructure Fund and are now under construction with their expected operation date to be mid-late 2021.

The gas-fired power plant and solar farm project will create more than 100 jobs and work to lower the cost of power to Territorians with the capacity to provide Darwin with nearly 10 per cent of its power needs.

The new plant is currently under construction on a previously owned LDC lot on Wishart Road making it central to both Darwin and Palmerston along with other LDC projects being Truck Central and the Darwin Business Park.
